Hello all! 

Let me introduce myself:
My name is Ronja, I am currently 17 years old (18 in June) and I'm from Holland.
In my leisure time I play volleybal, I write a lot (blogs, poems, stories, scripts etc), I love acting, sporting, going out with friends, reading, making art, going to concerts and lots more!! 
I am going to the Santa Monica College in Septembre and I am really really really looking forward to it  ! I am not sure what exact subjects I will take but it will be in the direction of Journalism/Film making. I am also planning to continue with Spanish classes (I have had Spanish classes in Holland as well).
I would like to meet students beforehand so that I can recognize a few familiar faces when College starts. I am also considering to share an appartment with another student, maybe one of you is considering that option as well?

What's up everybody ,

My name is Luis, 20 years old and I'm going to major theater at SMC . I'm from Holland, Rotterdam. In my spare time I like to read, watch movies and do all kind of sports. But my passion is acting. I'm so happy that i'm going to study theater at SMC. After I graduated in 2009 for my HAVO I took a year of and started to prepare to go study theater in the US. First I wanted to go to a four year college but that was to expensive for me . So I went to search for something more in my budget and I eventually came across the eye-catching Santa Monica College .

This is a great way to meet students who are also going to study at SMC and it would be great to get in touch with those students. A friend of my named stanley is also going to major theatere at SMC. He's probably going to write a blog soon.

Hey everybody,

I'm Stanley. I'm 23 years old and I live in Rotterdam. LOVE to act and entertain people. That's what I've been put on this earth to do, to OEHH and AAHH people
In my spare time I looove going to the cinema. Just saw the movie Kick-Ass the other day and I'm going again. (go see it, it is AWESOME!) I also love working out and Martial Arts.

I'm very glad that I'm going to America. It's been a life long dream of mine and now that I'm going I feel incredible! Santa Monica seems like a beautiful place and I cant wait to start a new chapter of my life there. I'm going to be majoring in Theatre Arts just like my friend Luis. We both have the same dream. To become the best actors we can be. And believe me when I tell you we're going to make it

But before I go I still have some time to work on some things, such as my math for the math test we're all going to be having. Lord knows how good I was with math -__-.
And another important thing...cooking Yess this dude can't really cook yet, but that's where mom comes in haha. I'll be cooking great dishes in no time!

Great idea to unite us like this. I'm excited to meet y'all someday. Stay positive, dont stop for nothing and you'll get where you want to be in life

Hey you all!

I got the link to this forum from my country´s (Finland) counselor - hope u don´t mind that a guy from North joins the conversation!;)

I have applied for the study abroad program and will spend the becoming autumn in SMC. Currently I´m studying at university of Oulu in Finland and next year will be my last before graduating with Msc in business. Since I don´t have many courses left for the becoming year I thought to spend the first half of the year in Santa Monica College studying courses my uni doesn´t offer (+ possibly joining the sun we don´t have in Finland during the winter time:D).

I have some earlier experience from Los Angeles and Santa Monica as I worked there at a private beach club during the summer 2008. Our apartment was on Venice boulevard and route to work went through Santa Monica so the places are familiar to me. Santa Monica and LA are just awesome places and I´m sure that you´ll have the time of your life there.

Anyways, I just wanted to say hello and join the conversation. It´s always good if you know people in advance when you go to new places.

Hi! I'm 26 years old woman from Finland. I already have a bachelor's degree from media technology. My major in SMC will be photography. I'm also interested in graphic design and Spanish studies. I like to meet new people, travel and try new things. Last fall I was on a holiday in USA with my boyfriend. We made a road trip Los Angeles - Las Vegas - San Francisco. LA was definitely our favorite. Flying to LA beginning of the August. My boyfriend is moving to LA later, because he is still waiting his work visa there. It would be nice to meet other international students before semester begins...

You made an excellent choice! I spent 2 years in Santa Monica College and I enjoyed every moment of it! They do have a bit of a drug problem there in my opinion, but as long as you stay away from all that I couldn't recommend it highly enough!
